I planted a cat and a tulip in my yard last Autumn. I think they’re both doing rather well, don’t you?
I love watching Spring coming to life around my house. It’s always the forsythias first, with their burst of bright yellow, especially pleasing when we get the rare blue sky day here in Pittsburgh.

My cats have been appreciating the warmer temperatures, too. Fini (below) loves to stalk about the garden like it’s a jungle to be conquered. Watch out, ivy, you’re next!

The blossoms on what I call my “droopy tree” are always pleasing and are attracting hundreds of bees. I’m especially pleased when I see the bumblers, as I’d never seen them when I lived in Australia. After seven years in Pittsburgh, they still make me giggle and point

I was looking forward to photographing tulips, which should be flowering any time now, but the selection is going to be rather limited this year; deer have eaten about 75% of the tulip bulbs I planted last Autumn. I’m not mad at them, though. I’m too impressed with their beauty to begrudge them a few tulip salads. And besides, they don’t like daffodils, and I have lots of those in my garden
